Traditional Camp Program
(Ages 12 - 16)
SEQUOIA PROGRAM
Sequoia campers make up our older age division. Within the division, campers are placed in cabins with other campers their age. Some Sequoias will have spent previous summers with CHM while many others will be first-time campers. Our welcoming environment ensures first-time campers will quickly become veterans.
Compared to our younger cabins Sequoias are offered a greater number of elective periods. Activities are also scheduled for each cabin to allow bonding time and unique cabin events. Sequoias evening program includes later bedtimes and more frequent social events. Our Sequoia out-of-camp line-up includes a progressive set of offerings with new trips available as campers age.
Afternoons include a wide variety of activities and an opportunity to try something new for one period. In the spring, parents and campers receive an activity selection form allowing campers to plan their summer experience.
Electives
VIEW ELECTIVES
Electives are organized by age group and campers and parents make selections in the spring based on their personal interests and desires. As campers return each summer they have the opportunity to try new activities, as well as further develop skills in past favorites.
Cabin Activities
Evenings also center around cabin groups. This allows age-appropriate activities and schedules that include later bedtimes for older campers.
Trips and New Adventures
Campers choose one New Adventure or Out-of-Camp trip each week. Whether it be a culinary class bake-off or an afternoon rock climbing trip there is always something of interest to choose. View a list
Please note there are no additional charges for out-of-camp trips.
Explore the Camp
Our location has been described by many as breathtaking. As you follow the trail through the riverside meadows and across the bridge you come to our “camp village.” Here you will find our office, health center, dining hall, cabins, art center, and a host of recreational and training facilities such as our sports fields, basketball court, bike skills park, equestrian arena, pond, climbing walls, challenge course, swimming pool, and more.
