Rock Climbing Camp with White Water Rafting
Boys and Girls, ages 12-16
June 27 - July 3

Rock climbing has always been one of the cornerstones of our program. Since 1992 we have introduced thousands of participants to the wonderful sport and art of climbing. This is real rock and our location gives us the advantage of being in the middle of it all. Whether you have never done it before or are already a climbing maniac this program is designed for the individual wanting to expand his or her climbing experience with a full week devoted to time on the rocks. We begin at basecamp learning the fundamentals of safety systems and introductory techniques for climbing. Our indoor wall and outdoor climbing tower provide the ideal start. We then head straight to areas that make West Virginia a premier destination for rock climbers. Right in our own backyard await the many crags and cliffs where we put our skills to practice and progress to more advanced climbs. With many climbs to choose from we always allow for a variety of levels and abilities. In addition to an emphasis on fluid movement and the art of rock climbing we will cover climbing knots, climbing commands, basic top rope techniques and managment and overview of the climbing rating system. With plenty of time on the rocks we also take some time for refreshing afternoons swims, great evening campfires and some extra evening moves on the indoor wall. We commit one full day to a spectacular white water rafting trip at the New River Gorge. Designated wild and scenic the New River is the best rafting on the east cost.

Girls Equestrian Camp
Girls, ages 9-14
June 20 -26

For girls who love horses! Our week-long program includes 3-4 hours of instruction per day. We teach English riding, which is a strong foundation for all varieties of riding. At the entry level, campers learn to relate to the horse on the ground. During grooming and pen work, they learn how to approach and interact with the horse, how to tack the horse, and finally how to mount and dismount. Through skilled instruction, our campers develop communication and control to enjoy - with safety - the pleasure of confidently walking, trotting, and catering. After mastering the riding ring, our campers depart for trail rides throughout our property. We also allow some time for some additional activities. Riding our 1000 foot zip line, swimming, and some time spent in our artisan village round out the week long experience.
